The following is a brief description of the pregnancy content in His Empress that some readers may find triggering. These descriptions contain spoilers.

• At her anatomy scan, Sienna is told there could be something wrong with her baby’s heart and she is referred to Maternal Fetal Medicine for a follow up. (The fetal echocardiogram is negative and baby’s heart is fine).

• Sienna has an unplanned home birth that she is partially alone for. Her labor involves precipitous labor (labor lasting less than 3 hours) and fetal ejection reflex (strong contractions that expel the baby without conscious pushing by the mother). Sienna’s baby is a tiny bit early but does not require a NICU stay. Sienna and her baby are both healthy after delivery.
